We are pleased to announce details of our upcoming Grove High School Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony to be held June 19 at Ridgerunner Stadium.

Please know we continue to identify protocols to ensure, to the best of our ability, the safety, health, and well-being of our graduates and those who attend our graduation ceremonies.  We have held conversations with multiple entities to make this the best it can be.

The graduation ceremony will be a socially-distanced, limited public gathering.  The ceremony is optional. If you do not feel safe, please do not attend.

  • Graduates will report directly to the stadium, wearing their cap and gown.  All graduates must be in their seat on the stadium turf by 7:15 pm. Top 10% and Oklahoma Academic Scholars must sit in assigned seats on the front row.  All other graduates can sit in any seat starting from the 2nd row moving filling in towards the last row.

  • There will be no graduation practice.

  • At the start of the ceremony, graduates will be paraded around the track for all families to see their graduate.  Graduates will return to their seat and be guided to the stage to pick up their diploma cover and take a picture with the official photographer.  Families must remain in their seats during the ceremony.

  • There will be a photo backdrop for families to take pictures while adhering to social distancing guidelines off the football field.

  • Graduation ceremony is a choice and students may choose not to attend.  Each graduate will be listed in the program with honors noted; all graduates will receive a program.

  • Graduates will be six feet apart at all times. This includes sitting in the seats on the field and standing in line to get their diplomas.

For your safety and that of others, including our graduates, please adhere to the following:

  • Please DO NOT attend graduation ceremonies if you have a fever or other symptoms of COVID-19 including cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, and/or new loss of taste or smell.  Those with compromised immune systems SHOULD NOT attend graduation ceremonies.

  • Masks (nose-mouth coverings) will be recommended for everyone at all times on Grove Public School property.  This includes all family members/guests/attendees.

  • If you are reluctant or concerned about attending graduation, this is completely understandable, as each must make the best choice for one’s self and family.

  • It is recommended that families (members of the same household) arrive together and sit together as a group, socially-distanced from the next family.

  • Please refrain from contact from those outside your family (group photos, hugs, high-fives, etc.).

  • Young children must be closely monitored to ensure social distancing and at no time will children be allowed to move about unattended.

  • Seating areas will be thoroughly disinfected before and after the ceremony.

  • Everyone will be encouraged to immediately return to their vehicles at the conclusion of the ceremony without gathering on the field, in the stands or in the parking lot.

In the case of inclement weather, we will hold graduation on July 10, 2020.

Our graduation ceremonies will be live-streamed. Livestream links will be shared with graduates and their parents prior to the event. Please be patient as this is a new way of thinking about and conducting graduation. We need your full cooperation to make this a memorable and positive event for our graduates

Congratulations to our Class of 2020!
